ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to Authorize the Addition
of Bullfrog Road Repaving to the 2020 Annual
Construction Program and Assign a County Road Project
Number
BACKGROUND: In early December 2019, significant roadway deterioration
became apparent along the entire length of Bullfrog Road.
Staff has filled nearly 100 potholes in the past several
months and recently the Board reduced the speed limit to
35 MPH along the entire roadway — minimizing ongoing
damage to vehicles. Public Works anticipates grinding
(milling) the existing roadway surface and then placing a
new two-inch asphalt overlay along the entire length of
Bullfrog Road.
INTERACTION: Public Works.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution to authorize the addition of
Bullfrog Road Pavement Repaving to the 2020 Annual
Construction Program and assign a County Road Project
Number.
HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works

BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF KITTITAS COUNTY, STATE OF WASHINGTON, in the matter
of initiating a county road project designated as:
CRP NO: 300-20 JOB NO: RC2002-ST
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED Bullfrog Road #92275 MP 0.00-2.70
Bullfrog Road is currently experiencing significant pavement failure creating a hazard for the traveling public. Work will
include milling the existing roadway and overlaying with hot mix asphalt to provide a new roadway surface for Bullfrog
Road.

This project is hereby declared to be a public necessity and the Director of Public Works acting as the County Engineer is hereby
ordered and authorized to report and proceed thereon as by law provided. (RCW 36.75.050, 36.80.030, 36.80.070).
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that an appropriation from the officially adopted road fund budget and based on the Director of
Public Works' estimate, is hereby made in the amounts and for the purposes shown:
