BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />ORDINANCE NO. - G'c;2–001 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING COUNTY CODE TO REFLECT THE VOTERS' DECISION TO <br />PERMANENTLY EXTEND THE THREE TENTHS OF 1% CRIMINAL JUSTICE AND PUBLIC SAFETY <br />SALES AND USE TAX <br />Whereas: RCW 82.14.450 authorizes county legislative authorities to adopt a resolution <br />providing for the submission of a proposal to the voters for a sales and use tax at <br />the next primary or general election; and <br />Whereas: Section 3.06.070 of the Kittitas County Code currently states the criminal justice <br />and public safety sales and use tax automatically expires on December 31, 2021, <br />unless further authorized by public vote; and <br />Whereas: The Kittitas County Board of Commissioners adopted Resolution 2019-070, <br />directing a ballot proposition to permanently extend the criminal justice and <br />public safety sales and use tax, be submitted to the voters of Kittitas County at <br />the Primary Election of August 6, 2019; and <br />Whereas: The ballot proposition to permanently extend the criminal justice and public <br />safety sales and use tax was approved by a majority of voters in the Primary <br />Election of August 6, 2019; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, Kittitas County Code Section 3.06.070 shall be amended <br />to reflect the permanent extension of the three tenths of 1% criminal justice and public safety <br />sales and use tax, and shall read, in pertinent part, (additions to this text are shown by <br />underline and deletions by+rte, �;ea; the rest of chapter 3.06 shall remain in full force and <br />effect) as follows: <br />3.06.070. Effective Data and Expiran Date. This chapter took effect at 12:01 a.m. <br />on January 1, 2008.
