Ruby St., Suite 2, Ellensburg, WA 98926 <br />CDS@CO.KITTITAS.WA.US <br />Office (509) 962-7506 <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: January 21, 2020 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve the attached Resolution and Authorize Chairman’s Signature <br />on the Purchase and Sale Agreement for Hairpin Ranch Conservation Easement. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: On September 4, 2018 the Board of County Commissioners authorized the <br />Chairman’s signature on the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office <br />Resolution/Authorization Form for Hairpin Ranch Conservation Easement. This <br />authorized the County to be a co-holder of the easement. The Project Agreement and <br />associated Resolution 2019-135 was signed by the BOCC on September 3, 2019. <br />Before you today is the Purchase and Sale Agreement between all parties (Brent and <br />Mary Minor, Forterra, and Kittitas County) which is the next step in the process for <br />the acquisition of interest in real property for farmland preservation pursuant to <br />Chapter 79A.15 RCW. This purchase and sale agreement has received legal review. <br />The last step to finalize this process will be the signing of the conservation easement <br />which will occur at a later date.
