Action Requested:
Request to Approve an Ordinance Amending County Code to Reflect the Voters’
Decision to Permanently Extend the Three Tenths of 1% Criminal Justice and
Public Safety Sales and Use Tax
Background:
The Kittitas County Board of Commissioners adopted Resolution 2019-070,
directing a ballot proposition to permanently extend the criminal justice and public
safety sales and use tax, be submitted to the voters of Kittitas County at the Primary
Election of August 6, 2019.
The ballot proposition to permanently extend the criminal justice and public safety
sales and use tax was approved by a majority of voters in the Primary Election of
August 6, 2019.
This ordinance is to update the County Code to reflect this tax is now permanent by
public vote on August 6, 2019
Recommendation:
The Board approve an Ordinance Amending County Code to Reflect the Voters’
Decision to Permanently Extend the Three Tenths of 1% Criminal Justice and
Public Safety Sales and Use Tax
