Response 1:Combination of fingerstyle guitar workshop taught by the world's foremost acoustic Project/Event fingerstyle guitar scholar,John Stropes (who runs the only college degree program Description*in the world in the genre at Univ.of Wisconsin-Milwaukee),and world-class fingerstyle guitarist in concert.Motif is same as what we've done this year with "The Music of Leo Kottke"workshop and "An Evening with Leo Kottke"concert. Also referenced further in the application,we will have a targeted area of the Puget Sound region but because of the masters in fingerstyle guitar there will be attendees from areas throughout the country and even the world that will travel specifically for this event. The results of our year-old organization are both promising and encouraging. LMMO is working with musicians and instructors that are at the top of their fields. We have brought the world's foremost acoustic guitar scholar with his annual Music of Leo Kottke workshop to Ellensburg, syncing it for the first time ever with a concert by Leo Kottke. That concert sold out in advance, and we had requests for holding it in a bigger venue (than the 600 seat Dr.Wayne S.Hertz Symphony Hall). Internationally-recognized and Emmy award winning artist,Billy McLaughlin, has performed multiple times in Ellensburg. Both of these world class performers coming to our city have gained the attention of other artists, and one of these, Tony McManus, will be coming to EIIensburg in December,2019.(Tony is one of the top Celtic guitarists in the world.)The circle of contacts and possibilities is only expanding, with multiple implications for EIIensburg in years to come.We are considering bringing Leo Kottke here again next year, possibly even for two nights in a row.Mandy Harvey's agent has Ellensburg held for early April,2020.French guitar giant,Pierre Bensusan, likewise has EIIensburg dates reserved in May.John Stropes is considering holding another workshop here next year.In the longer- term,we plan to hold the first ever Central Washington Guitar Festival in 3 to 5 years, which would include competition prizes for up and coming musicians that will exceed any ever offered in similar competitions in the U.S We have alot that we want to do and it will only impact the local businesses and the tourism services. 2500 character lirrit List of Intended Use of Funds* Promotions Logistical Costs (venue, sound projection equipt) Instructor's Fee (multi instructors)Entertainers Transportation,Food,Lodging and Travel Material Costs (sheet music, programs print) 2|Projections of Increased Tourism Please provide the following estimates of how any money received will result in increases in the number of people traveling for business or pleasure on a trip: 1.Away from their place of residence or business and staying overnight in paid accommodations; 2.To a place fifty miles or more away from their place of residence or business for the day or staying overnight; 3.or from another country or state outside of their place of residence or business. You must provide the evidence utilized in determining your projections. Response 2.1-1.Away fromtheir place of residence or business and staying overnight in paid accormodations; Projection Workshop attendees will fly in from other states (possibly even foreign countries). This year our "Music of Leo Kottke"workshop (MOLK)has registrants from 18 different states:AK,AZ,CA,CO,ID,IL,MI,MN,NH,NV,NY,OH,OR,SC,VA,VT, WA,and Wl.The workshop runs Sept.26 thru 28,and many will leave on Sunday the 29th.This means at least a minimum of 2 night stay, often 3 nights, and possibly 4 nights. 2500 character lirrit Response 2.1:The list above is given because of the online ticket information that is given at timeEvidence*of purchase from the current event we are holding this weekend;September 25-29. We fill it will be just as diverse for the 2020 event;which we will be able to analyse through our website, online tickets, registration etc. 2500 character linit Response 2.2:2.To a place fifty niles or rrore away frorntheir place of residence or business for the day or staying overnight; Projection The 2020 MOLK brought in the highest turnout in its 12 year existence, with 48 registrants.Of these, only 7 (-15%)were from within a 50 mile radius of Ellensburg.Marketing and promotional will be stronger next year, and there also may be a "first ever"workshop ("The Music of Michael Hedges").An estimate of 50 attendees,of which 85%are beyond 50 miles away,is 42 attendees outside a 50 mile radius.(We are aiming for an even higher turnout -50 is a conservative estimate.) In addition, note that MOLK had 4 instructors from out of the area (Wl and CO)- these are not included in the preceding figures. Leo Kottke is one of the top names in the world in acoustic guitar. Our "Evening with Leo Kottke concert"sold out the 600 seat Dr.Wayne S.Hertz Symphony Hall at CWU.Of those who purchased tickets, there were a total of 150 online orders. 39 of these were from patrons outside of 50 miles of EIIensburg.Factoring in local ticket sales (-25%of tickets sold),an estimate 15%of ticket sales for a world class performer like Leo Kottke are expected be from outside a 50 mile radius of Ellensburg. For a show selling 600 tickets, this yields approximately 90 people coming from outside the 50 mile radius for the event. 2500 character lirrit Response 2.2:Please see above. Evidence *2500 character linit Response 2.3:3.or from another country or state outside of their place of residence or business. Projection Please see in the write up above, includes other countries and states in description. We anticipate the same types of interested visitors for the 2020 event. 2500 character lirrit Response 2.3:See above Evidence *2500 character lirnt Application Questions:Part 2 3|Measuring Results What tools will you use to measure your event's impact on tourism? Please be specific and provide examples.Include the following information: A.Is your projectlevent year-round or is it seasonal or date-specific?Go to definitions of terms.
