"Leah Holmgren Day"

WHEREAS: Leah Holmgren is a senior at Eller;i'.sburg High School and a respected leader of the Cross
Country team; and
WHEREAS: Leah is an athlete who is known for her dedication, commitment, tremendous work ethic,
academic excellence in the classroom, and exemplary character both on and off the race
course; and
WHEREAS: Leah has been recognized in many ways for her talent throughout her high school career
including a third and fifth place finish in State ; and
WHEREAS: On Saturday November 9, 2019 Leah clinched the individual Championship Title for the
2A Girls Cross Country with a time of 18:16 on a 5,000 meter course at the Sun Willows
Golf Course in Pasco , Washington;
WHEREAS: Leah is ending her high school Cross Country career as the 2A Girls Individual State
Champion and will be running next year for the University· of Idaho , which is an NCAA
Division I school;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: The Kittitas County Board of Commissioners would like to
request that the citizens of Kittitas County join them in celebrating and honoring Leah Holmgren and her
accomplishments throughout her Cross Country career at Ellensburg High School by Proclaiming Friday
December 13, 2019 as "Leah Holmgren Day" in Kittitas County.
ADOPTED this 3 rd Day of December 2019.
