BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION <br />NO. 2019-/ SJ: <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORING THE EXECUTION OF A LETTER OF AGENCY <br />APPOINTING THE WASHINGTON STATE MILITARY DEPARTMENT TO ACT ON <br />BEHALF OF COUNTY AS A LIMITED AGENT <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 38.52.510 "Each county, singly or in combination with one or <br />more adjacent counties, must implement countywide or multi-countywide <br />enhanced 911 emergency communications systems so that enhanced 911 is <br />available throughout the state"; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 38.52.520, the state enhanced 911 coordination office was <br />established within the Washington State Military Department (MIL); and <br />WHEREAS, the establishment of a new network configuration for enhanced 911 services is <br />underway and to ensure uninterrupted access to 911, it is necessary to connect to <br />the new network; and <br />WHEREAS, MIL is offering to act as an agent on behalf of the County to manage the transition <br />of enhanced 911 services currently provided to the State by Century Link and or its <br />third party agents to the new network managed by the State's new contractor <br />Comtech TCS; and <br />WHEREAS, the KITTCOM, the County's designated, Kittitas County Next Generation <br />Enhanced 911 Agency, believes that it is in the best interest of the County to <br />authorize MIL to act as an agent for the purposes stated in the Letter of Agency <br />that is attached hereto and hereby incorporated by reference; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners <br />hereby authorizes execution of the attached Letter of Agency appointing the Washington State <br />Military Department to act as the County's limited agent and on the County's behalf in the <br />manner detailed therein. <br />DATED this tJ:hn day of tJo \/(:)· \ bL J , 2019, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />ATTEST :
