KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />October 1, 2019 <br />Request to Set a Public Hearing to consider the Purchase of <br />Real Property. <br />BACKGROUND: Public Works staff has engaged in discussions and applied <br />for funding for the purchase of real property, described as <br />tax parcel 58933. This acquisition would secure <br />approximately 160.3 acres of land and two associated <br />senior water rights. After acquisition, the land would be <br />managed by the Flood Control Zone District as open space <br />for flood hazard reduction, fish and wildlife enhancement, <br />and agriculture uses. <br />Purchase of this real property is contingent on Kittitas <br />County receiving funding from Ecology in an amount <br />sufficient to fund the total purchase price of the property <br />and the Board of County Commissioners adopting a <br />resolution authorizing the purchase. The Chief Civil <br />Deputy Prosecutor has advised that the Board of County <br />Commissioners hold a public hearing to approve the <br />purchase. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Set a Public Hearing for October 15, 2019 at 2:00 PM to <br />consider the Purchase of Real Property. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Notice of Public Hearing <br />LEAD STAFF: Arden Thomas <br />Public Works Water Resource Manager <br />
