Request to Set a Public Hearing to consider the Purchase of
Real Property.
BACKGROUND: Public Works staff has engaged in discussions and applied
for funding for the purchase of real property, described as
tax parcel 58933. This acquisition would secure
approximately 160.3 acres of land and two associated
senior water rights. After acquisition, the land would be
managed by the Flood Control Zone District as open space
for flood hazard reduction, fish and wildlife enhancement,
and agriculture uses.
Purchase of this real property is contingent on Kittitas
County receiving funding from Ecology in an amount
sufficient to fund the total purchase price of the property
and the Board of County Commissioners adopting a
resolution authorizing the purchase. The Chief Civil
Deputy Prosecutor has advised that the Board of County
Commissioners hold a public hearing to approve the
purchase.
INTERACTION: Public Works
RECOMMENDATION: Set a Public Hearing for October 15, 2019 at 2:00 PM to
consider the Purchase of Real Property.
