KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: October 1, 2019 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to approve a Resolution Awarding a Portion of <br />2020 Distressed County Use Tax and Directing Staff to <br />Solicit for a Second Round of Public Facilities Project <br />Submittals <br />BACKGROUND: Recently, the Council of Governments (COG) sent a <br />request to the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) to <br />award a portion of the 2020 Distressed County Use Tax <br />funds and to direct staff advertise a second round for <br />potential Capital Facility applications. Following an <br />Agenda session on 09-17-2019; the BOCC directed the <br />requested second round of project advertisements but <br />elected to only award the economic development grants to <br />Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce and Ellensburg <br />Business Development Authority dba CenterFuse. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution to award a portion of 2020 <br />Distressed County Use Tax to the Kittitas County Chamber <br />of Commerce and the Ellensburg Business Development <br />Authority and direct a second round of Capital Facility <br />project solicitations. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark R.
