AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: September 3, 2019
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Acknowledge the Purchase of Nine X2 Taser Units
for the Kittitas County Sheriff s Office.
BACKGROUND: The Kittitas County Sheriff's Office needs to purchase nine new
Tasers, (2) for the Sheriff Reserve Deputy program, (1) for the new Operations
Commander position, (1) for the added Courthouse Security Position, (1) for a Sergeant
position, (2) Patrol Deputy positions, and (2) spare units. The agreement will:
-Purchase (9) X2 Taser units and accessories as per the contract.
-Includes Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW) hardware extended warranty coverage,
CEW products, and CEW accessories as listed in the quote provided by Axon.
Per Resolution 2017-123, the Sheriff is authorized to spend up to $10,000 at a time on
behalf of the County's needs.
INTERACTION: The purchase agreement was reviewed and approved by the Kittitas
County Prosecutor's Office.
RECOMMENDATION: Request to Acknowledge the Purchase of Nine X2 Taser
Units for the Kittitas County Sheriff's Office.
