AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: July 16, 2019
ACTION REQUESTED: Adopt the presented Records Management Resolution
regarding training on Public Records Act requests and
Records Management.
BACKGROUND: The Board had previously directed regular training on these
topics as a management tool to maximize performance and
minimize liability exposure.
INTERACTION: The RMC tasked a sub-committee with writing a proposal
for implementing the training. The goal of the
subcommittee was to ensure that all employees and those
who are obligated to prepare and present the training, along
with those providing logistical support, had ample notice
and a consistent schedule in order to minimize disruption.
The Resolution and Staff Report have been reviewed and
approved by the RMC membership.
RECOMMENDATION: Review the proposed Resolution and adopt it as written.
ATTACHMENT: Proposed Resolution Approving Public Records and
Records Management Training Schedule.
