BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COUNTY OF KITTITAS STATE OF WASHINGTON RESOLU /ONf NO. 2019-tJ L RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE KITTITAS VALLEY EVENT CENTER CONCERT TICKET DISCOUNTS FOR ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY AND VETERANS WHEREAS, the Director of the Kittitas Valley Event Center (KVEC) has the authority to establish the various rates, discounts, packages, policies, and procedures governing the use of the KVEC; and WHEREAS, the Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners has the authority to ratify such decisions by resolution; and WHEREAS, KVEC has an interest in honoring the service and sacrifice made by active duty military persohnel and veterans; and WHEREAS, KVEC recommends offering discounts for ticket fees for concerts held at the Kittitas Valley Event Center for any active duty military and veterans; and WHEREAS, discounts must be approved by the Kittitas Valley Event Center Director; and WHEREAS, the total value of a discount will be $5.00 (five dollars) per eligible ticket by the Kittitas Valley Event Center Director; and WHEREAS, KVEC will reserve the right to ask for proof of duty by showing a Military or Veteran ID Card or an official driver's license that includes a Veteran designation; and WHEREAS, Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners determine this to be in the public interest for the health, safety, and welfare of the community whereby the residents benefit from such actions that increase community morale and serve to support and enhance relationships between military and the general public; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Kittitas County, Washington , hereby adopts the Kittitas Valley Event Center event discounts for active duty military or veterans as described above.
