KITTITAS COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA STAFF REPORT AGENDA DATE: June 18, 2019 ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Special Event Application authorizing Richard Hoyt to hold Cascade Classic at Lost Pair Ranch. BACKGROUND: The Commissioners office received a Special Event Application from Richard Hoyt to hold the Cascade Classic at Lost Pair Ranch on the following days August 2, 3, 4 of 2019 from (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.). INTERACTION: The applicant is requesting a waiver to the Penal Bond - Kittitas County Code Chapter 5.20.100 – Penal Bond – Bond of Indemnity. They stated that the event was held last year with no impacts to the road and they were fully refunded their Penal Bond in 2018. The applicant is not requesting a waiver to Kittitas County Code Chapter 5.20.160 – Closing Hours. The permit fee has been paid and Staff has routed the application and received a recommendation of approval or contingent approval from the following departments: Sheriff, Public Health, Public Works, Solid Waste, Prosecutor, and Fire Marshal. (Specific comments may be seen in the Department Memo’s attached). At the time the Staff Report was drafted no comments had been submitted from the Auditor’s Office relating to Admissions Tax payment/submission/waiver request status. RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Special Event Application from Richard Hoyt to hold the Cascade Classic at Lost Pair Ranch 2019 on the following days August 2, 3, 4 of 2019. With the following contingencies: Public Works:  Public Notice given two weeks before the event to notify local residents of the upcoming event. Auditor:  Staff recommends approval noting that the obligations are met by the Public Works and the County Auditor. HANDLING: Staff will notify the applicant of the Board’s decision & send a copy to the Sheriff, Public Works, Public Health, Solid
