AGENDA DATE: May 21, 2019
ACTION REQUESTED: Grant and Approve Execution of an Easement to the City of
Ellensburg for Real Property Parcel #383133.
BACKGROUND: Kittitas County owns Real Property Parcel #383133 in fee simple.
This property cannot be built upon because the City of Ellensburg’s
utility lines located on the property. The City, however, has not
recorded a utility easement for the property, which has created
confusion and issues in the past about the buildability of this parcel.
INTERACTION: Neighboring landowners to Parcel #383133 have expressed interest in
purchasing this land from the County. However, before this parcel is
sold, the City’s utility easement should be granted and recorded so
that future confusion and issues about the buildability of this parcel
can be avoided.
RECOMMENDATION: Grant and execute a utility easement to the City of Ellensburg for
Parcel #383133.
