ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to Authorize Kittitas Valley
Event Center Event Fee Waivers for Local Law Enforcement
Officers Injured or Killed in the Line of Duty
BACKGROUND: In the light of this year’s unfortunate events in Kittitas County, the
Kittitas Valley Event Center would like the ability to enhance self-
promoted events with featured programming that highlights appreciation
for our local law enforcement. This programming would include event
admission waivers for local officers and their immediate families if that
officer has sustained a major injury or has been laid to rest due to an
incident while in the line of duty. We believe this to be of interest to the
people of the community and could be a benefit by increasing morale as
well as supporting enhancements of relationships between officers and
the general public.
