KITTITAS COUNTY Board of County Commissioners AGENDA STAFF REPORT AGENDA DATE: May 7, 2019 ACTION REQUESTED: Request the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) review and approve a Resolution and Amendment to Grant Agreement HH-2018- 002 with HopeSource, for the second year funding for the Women’s Sober House Project (WSHP). BACKGROUND: The BOCC approved and signed an Agreement with HopeSource for the WSHP, a two year project which was effective January 1, 2018 and scheduled to terminate on December 31, 2019. The second year funding was contingent upon meeting the following criteria: 1. Women’s Sober House shall be ready to accept new clients no later than April 1, 2018. 2. Women’s Sober House shall be fully operational, staffed, and at 75% occupancy or has served 3-4 people no later than July 1, 2018. INTERACTION: During the open public meeting on 4-24-19 of the Homelessness and Affordable Housing Committee (HAHC), the quarterly reports provided by HopeSource for the WSHP were reviewed and the HAHC determined that the criteria required for the second year funding had been met. The HAHC voted to recommend to the BOCC amending the Agreement to allow for second year funding for the WSHP from the Homeless funding. RECOMMENDATION: Review and approve a Resolution and Amendment to Grant Agreement HH-2018-002 with HopeSource for the second year funding for the Women’s Sober House Project in the amount of $54,822.00 ($52,212 plus 5% annual increase of $2,610).
