Dear Board of County Commissioners,
The Sheriff's Office recommends approval of the Easton Memorial Day Celebration
parade and street fair on May 25, 2019.
This will include three Reserve Deputies that will be assigned to the traffic control and
the recommendation that the organizers contact the Washington State Patrol and the
Department of Transportation for possible signage warning of backups that may occur
on the ramps, due to traffic volume exiting.

The Solid Waste Programs department is satisfied with the applicants' proposed handling of
solid waste (garbage, recyclables), as per below.
I clarified with Cindy McLaughlin that garbage cans will be available throughout the event area
in addition to the primary 6 yard bin.

I have reviewed the application packet for the Easton Memorial Day Celebration occurring on 25 -May 2019 and
spoken with the event coordinator.
There are no Fire Marshal permits required for this event and there are no Fire Life Safety concerns.

I have reviewed the special permit application from Teresa Kartes, the coordinator of
the Easton Memorial Day Celebration special event, which is scheduled for May 25
2019.
recommend approving this event based on the following criteria -

1. Local advertisement in the Daily Record, NKC tribune, Local Radio and Physical
posting two weeks in advance to inform the traveling public of the upcoming event.
2. Certified traffic control personnel at intersection and any other area of concern to
insure the safe movement of pedestrian and the motoring public.
3. Clearly marked Detour routes. Advanced warning signs of detours and traffic
control personnel.

Parade, to be held on Saturday May 25, 2019. 1 will be placing this request on the May 7, 2019
Commissioner Agenda for the Board's consideration. Please submit your departments
recommendation to me no later than April 30, 2019 by noon. If there are still outstanding issues,
please indicate those in writing as well. For specific questions regarding the event I would ask
