Ruby St., Suite 2, Ellensburg, WA 98926 <br />CDS@CO.KITTITAS.WA.US <br />Office (509) 962-7506 <br />Fax (509) 962-7682 <br /> <br />“Building Partnerships – Building Communities” <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: April 16, 2019 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to set a Public Hearing to Consider Amendments to Kittitas County Code Title 9 <br />and Title 20 <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: Staff is requesting to set a public hearing to consider amendments to Kittitas County Code <br />(KCC) Title 9 and Title 20. The amendments to Title 9 would authorize the Fire Marshal to <br />approve firework ignition or discharge on days other than July 4 th, December 31st and <br />January 1st, and would authorize the Fire Marshal to prohibit the ignition or discharge of <br />fireworks in conjunction with an established burn ban. The amendments to Title 20 would <br />adopt amendments to the International Wildland -Urban Interface Code (IWUIC) regarding <br />technical assistance, exterior wall treatments, openings in soffits, eaves, and overhangs, and <br />trees allowed within required defensible space. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: Board of Commissioners, Community Development Services, Prosecutor’s Office <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the Board of Commissioners set the public hearing for Tuesday, <br />May 7, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Commissioner’s Auditorium. <br /> <br />HANDLING: None <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: Proposed amendments to KCC Title 9 and Title 20 <br /> <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Dan Carlson, AICP, Community Development Services Director
