Cook, Director <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners <br />CC: Candie Leader, Administrative Assistant <br />FROM: Road Forman (Ryan Berge) <br />DATE: 03/14/19 <br />SUBJECT: Yakima River Canyon Marathon <br />I have reviewed the Special Event Application from Bob and Lenore Dolphin, the <br />Coordinators for the 19th Annual Yakima River Canyon Marathon which is scheduled for <br />March 30th, 2019. 1 would like to clarify that Berry, Wood House Loop, and the County <br />portion of Canyon Road will not be closed for the duration of the race; Also that there <br />will be sufficient amounts of traffic control at all of these intersections. <br />recommend approving this event based upon the following criteria: <br />1) Local Advertisement in the Daily Record/Radio/physical posting two <br />weeks in advance to inform the traveling public of upcoming event in <br />order to give them the choice to plan a different route during this time <br />period. <br />2) There will be no closures of County roads, and there will be sufficient <br />signage and traffic control at all intersections. <br />411 N.
