KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: March 19, 2019 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Request for Qualifications <br />for University Way and Reecer Creek Road <br />Intersection Signal Improvements <br />BACKGROUND: Kittitas County Public Works applied for a Surface <br />Transportation Block Grant in 2018 and was <br />awarded $129,750 for the design of University Way <br />and Reecer Creek Road Intersection Improvements. <br />This is a joint project between Kittitas County <br />Public Works and the City of Ellensburg. Public <br />Works has produced a Request for Qualifications to <br />hire a consultant for engineering and <br />environmental work supporting traffic signal <br />design. The consultant will have experience in <br />traffic signal and civil design, street improvement <br />projects, traffic signal design and timing, design of <br />Americans with Disabilities Act accessible <br />pedestrian improvements, environmental reporting <br />and permitting, Eastern Washington design, and <br />relevant codes and standards. <br />INTERACTION: <br />Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Request for Qualifications supporting <br />University Way and Reecer Creek Road <br />Intersection Signal Improvements. <br />HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Consultant Request <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark Cook, Director <br />
