AGENDA DATE: February 5, 2019
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve County Road Project for the
installation of a signal at the intersection of
University Way and Reecer Creek Road.
BACKGROUND: University Way continues to see increased traffic
volumes. Consequently, vehicles turning onto
University Way from Reecer Creek Road have
increased wait times. There is also limited sight
distance at the intersection, creating an unsafe
condition for the traveling public. The County will
install a signal to decrease average wait time at the
intersection and improve safety.

BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF KITTITAS COUNTY, STATE OF WASHINGTON, in the matter
of initiating a county road project designated as:
CRP NO: 293-18 JOB NO: RC1592-F1
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that University Way and Reecer Intersection, Road Log No. 93041 from Milepost 1.47 to
Milepost 1.94 be improved as follows:
The County will install a signal to decrease average wait time at the
intersection, and improve safety.

This project is hereby declared to be a public necessity and the Director of Public Works acting as the County Engineer is hereby
ordered and authorized to report and proceed thereon as by law provided. (RCW 36.75.050, 36.80.030, 36.80.070).
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that an appropriation from the officially adopted road fund budget and based on the Director of
Public Works' estimate, is hereby made in the amounts and for the purposes shown:
