MEMORANDUM OR UNDERSTANDING <br />PURPOSE <br />Counties arc authorized order Chapter 19.34 RCW to establish mrd operate Court Appointed <br />Special Advocates (CASA) programa or corer into agreements with indepeadent entities to <br />provide cord appointed special advoeatedguardimu all from mjuvenile dependency cases filed <br />and pending in superior tomo. <br />Consistent with the above authority, Shims County Superior Court has provided CASA services <br />in juvenile dependency cases dssough Court Advocates for Children for Efi titan County, a not <br />- <br />for-profit corporation incorporated in December 1985. <br />This Memorandum of Understanding(MOD)mrs oriali.res and outlines ways in which Iinitas <br />County Superior Count and Court Advocates for Children for Kittitss County (Court Advocates) <br />have workeal logethersince December 1985 and will continue to work together to provide CASA <br />services for juveniles in dependency cases filed and pending m Kittiws County Superior Court. <br />It is the desire ofthe parties b improve the CASA program by counting into this MOU. Corot <br />Advocates is aware that by entering into this MOU, it will confirm to be broad to provide <br />CASA services for juvenile dependency cases in Kittens County Superior Croat. <br />This MOIJ shall continue indefinitely unless tcnainated by eithcrpaay es dcscribW bcluw. Both <br />parties may review the terms of this MOU annually, oras needed. This MOI] maybe amended <br />only by mnmal written agreement Either party may terminale this agreement with sixty (60) <br />days written notice with or without rause. This MOD shall remain in effect until timm is a <br />written curriculum from either perry that there is a need to change or terminato this MOU. In <br />the event of termination of this MOIL, Cruel Advocates shall be paid ecmp smation, as described <br />in Section 2 below, through the last month of services provided to lChmas County Superior <br />Court. <br />I.
