AGENDA DATE: December 18, 2018
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of an
Interlocal Agreement Between the City of Ellensburg, Washington and the County of
Kittitas, Washington for the Housing of Inmates.
BACKGROUND: This Interlocal Agreement is between the City of Ellensburg and
Kittitas County for the Housing of Inmates from January 1, 2019 -December 31, 2020.
The daily rate proposed is $64.50/day in 2019 and $66.50/day in 2020 (approximately a
3% increase). There will be a discount for inmate workers from EPD, with a cost of
$42/day for each day that an inmate is eligible to serve as an inmate worker.
INTERACTION: The Kittitas County Prosecutor's Office has reviewed and approved
this Interlocal Agreement.
RECOMMENDATION: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of an
Interlocal Agreement between the City of Ellensburg, Washington and the County of
Kittitas, Washington for the housing of inmates.
HANDLING: Please return one fully executed original to KCSO, which we will
provide to the City for its records.
