Kittitas County <br />Public Health Office <br /> <br />Agenda Staff Report <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />12/4/2018 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Request to approve the Agreement to Lease Water for Irrigation (Treat Lease). <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Kittitas County finalized the purchase of water rights from James and Hazel in 2018. As part of the purchase <br />and sale agreement, the County agreed to lease back a portion of the Treat's water for 20 years, beginning in <br />August 2018, except in years of drought. <br /> <br />The Treats will pay the County an annual lease price equal to 44.9 acres multiplied by per acre price <br />established by the Kittitas Reclamation District for water each specific year of the Lease Agreement. ( 2018 <br />KRD rate was $63.78 per acre) <br /> <br />INTERACTION: <br /> <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends the approval of the Agreement to Lease Water for Irrigation (Treat Lease). <br /> <br />HANDLING: <br /> <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />Erin Moore <br />
