ACTION REQUESTED:
Request to approve the Agreement to Lease Water for Irrigation (Treat Lease).
BACKGROUND:
Kittitas County finalized the purchase of water rights from James and Hazel in 2018. As part of the purchase
and sale agreement, the County agreed to lease back a portion of the Treat's water for 20 years, beginning in
August 2018, except in years of drought.
The Treats will pay the County an annual lease price equal to 44.9 acres multiplied by per acre price
established by the Kittitas Reclamation District for water each specific year of the Lease Agreement. ( 2018
KRD rate was $63.78 per acre)
