KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: November 6, 2018 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve the Resolution to Ratify the Chair's <br />Signature on Federal Emergency Management Agency <br />Annual Community Rating System Report Documents <br />BACKGROUND: Kittitas County is enrolled in the Federal Emergency <br />Management Agency (FEMA) Community Rating System. <br />This federal program lowers flood insurance rate premiums <br />for all county residents receiving federal floodplain <br />insurance. <br />The County is required to report annual activities to FEMA <br />consistent with maintaining its CRS rating. <br />FEMA required the Chair's signature before October 15, <br />2018. Timing for report submittal necessitated the Chair's <br />signature ahead of full Board action. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works; Flood Control Zone District <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution to Ratify the Chair's Signature on <br />Federal Emergency Management Agency Annual <br />Community Rating System Report Documents <br />HANDLING: Return one (1) copy to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution ratifying the Chair's signature on the 2018 CRS <br />annual report to FEMA. <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark Cook, Public Works Director <br />
