PUBLIC HEARING STAFF REPORT
PUBLIC HEARING DATE: October 16, 2018
ACTION REQUESTED: Conduct a Public Hearing to consider the Placement
of a Stop Sign at the Intersection of Meadow Way
(MP 0.0) at Sparks Road and Amend Kittitas
County Code 10. 12.010
BACKGROUND: Recently, the Board of County Commissioners
established Meadow Way onto the Public Road
network under Resolution 2018-151. The County
Engineer has determined that a stop sign on
Meadow Way at Sparks Road is in the best interest
of public safety. A red -line markup of KCC
10. 12.010 is provided for Board consideration.
INTERACTION: Public Works
RECOMMENDATION: Place the requested stop sign on Meadow Way (MP
0.0) at the intersection of Sparks Road and amend
KCC 10.12.010.
HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works

ORDINANCE No. 2018 -
PLACEMENT OF A STOP SIGN AT MEADOW WAY AND AMENDING SECTION 10.12.010 OF
THE HITTITAS COUNTY CODE
WHEREAS: The Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners recently placed Meadow Way onto
the public road network under Resolution 2018-151; and
WHEREAS: The Kittitas County Engineer has determined that placing a stop sign at the intersection of
Meadow Way and Sparks Road is in the best interest of public safety; and
WHEREAS: The Board of Kittitas County Commissioners did hold a public hearing on Tuesday, October
16`h, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. to hear public testimony regarding the placement a of stop sign on
Meadow Way at Sparks Road; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED That the Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners, after
due deliberation and in the best interest of the public, does hereby place a stop sign on Meadow Way at the
intersection of Sparks Road and amend Kittitas County Code Section 10. 12.010 as indicated in Exhibit A.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED That this ordinance will become effective upon the installation of the stop
sign.
ADOPTED this 16th day of October, 2018.
