AGENDA DATE: September 4, 2018
ACTION REQUESTED: Requesting Approval of Memorandum of Agreement for Hairpin Ranch
Conservation Easement
BACKGROUND: At the June 11, 2018 CDS Study Session, the Board of Commissioners agreed to be a
co-grantee/co-holder of a conservation easement for Hairpin Ranch on Rader Road.
On July 17, 2018, the Board authorized the Chair’s signature on the grant application
for the conservation easement. The attached Memorandum of Agreement (MOA)
would establish the principles under which Kittitas County and Forterra would
acquire the conservation easement on the Hairpin Ranch Property. The MOA has
received legal review.
