AGENDA DATE: September 4, 2018
ACTION REQUESTED: Public hearing to consider the purchase of real estate.
BACKGROUND: In 2016 the Solid Waste Department started working with CH2M now
known as Jacobs to locate a new site for the Ellensburg Transfer
Station. Jacobs along with Public input has recommending the Hwy
97 Old Highway 10 site.
The Prosecutors office has been in negotiations with Property owner’s
representative of the Hwy 97/Old Highway 10 site. The Prosecutors
office has prepared a purchase and sales agreement. This agreement
is for Parcel 611033 which includes 54.95 acres and the Water rights.
The purchase and sales agreement has been signed by the Chair
contingent on the adoption of a resolution authorizing the purchaser to
fund the purchase of the property.
INTERACTION: The Prosecutors office, and Solid Waste
RECOMMENDATION: Board to ratify Chairs signature on the Purchase and Sales agreement
and approval to move forward with the purchase of the property. In
addition approval for Chair to Sign final closing documents.
