AGENDA DATE: August 21, 2018
ACTION REQUESTED: Consider the Appointment of Dr. Laura Portolese to the Kittitas
County Homelessness & Affordable Housing Committee.
BACKGROUND: On July 31, 2018 Staff received an application from Dr. Laura
Portolese requesting the Board consider her for appointment to
the County’s Homelessness & Affordable Housing Committee.
INTERACTION: On August 16, 2018 Staff received a letter from Debbie Myers,
Clerk for the Homelessness & Affordable Housing Committee
stating that the Committee had met and voted unanimously to
recommend that the BoCC consider appointing Dr. Portolese.
RECOMMENDATION: Appoint Dr. Portolese to the Homelessness and Affordable
Housing Committee for a 2 year term effective immediately,
ending on 12/31/2019 (term is beginning part way through the
year).
HANDLING: Deputy Clerk of the Board to notify Dr. Portolese of the County
Commissioner’s decision, update public website and send
notification to the Clerk of the HAHC.
