AGENDA DATE: June 19, 2018
ACTION REQUESTED: Approval of Professional Services Agreement with SAFEbuilt Washington, LLC
for Building Inspection and Plan Review Services
BACKGROUND: Community Development Services (CDS) is currently experiencing an increase in
building permit application and inspection requests for 2018 of 50% to 60% over
the same period in 2017. Additionally, several new plats may be recorded this
year, resulting in additional buildable lots. SAFEbuilt has certified building
inspectors and plans examiners in Kittitas County that can provide additional
support for our building staff on an as-needed basis. Therefore, CDS is requesting
approval of a professional services agreement with SAFEbuilt for building
inspection and plan review services.
INTERACTION: Board of Commissioners, Community Development Services
RECOMMENDATION: Approve and Sign the Professional Services Agreement with SAFEbuilt
Washington, LLC.
