BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE SHERIFF OF KITITTAS COUNTY TO <br />NEGOTIATE, ENTER INTO, AND APPROVE CONTRACTS WITH A VALUE OF <br />LESS THAN $10,000 DOLLARS <br />RESOLUTION No. 2017-I J.'f? <br />WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners has the authority to make such <br />contracts as may be necessary to their corporate or administrative powers, and to do all necessary <br />acts in relation to the property of the County pursuant to RCW 36.010, and <br />WHEREAS, The County's powers can only be exercised by The Board of County <br />Commissioners or by agents or officers acting under their authority or other authority of law <br />pursuant to RCW 36.01.030; and <br />WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners has previously delegated to another <br />county department specific authority regarding the Board's duty to negotiate, enter into, and <br />approve contracts for expenditures, purchases or other contractual obligations for property, <br />goods or services with a value ofless than $10,000 dollars; and <br />WHEREAS, such delegation is consistent with the above cited statutes; and <br />WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners and the Sheriff of Kittitas County <br />have jointly determined that a similar delegation of authority is appropriate to the operational <br />needs of the County and the Sheriff; and <br />WHEREAS, the provisions of Resolution 2009-22 pertaining to the procedures for <br />review of contracts by the Kittitas County Prosecutor's Office as directed by the policies and <br />practices of that office shall remain in full force and effect; and <br />WHEREAS, the provisions of Resolution 2009-22 pertaining to the procedures for <br />payment of debts obligated in such manner by the Kittitas County Auditor's Office as directed <br />by the policies and practices of that office shall remain in full force and effect; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Board of County <br />Commissioners of Kittitas County, Washington authorizes the Sheriff of Kittitas County to <br />negotiate, enter into, and approve contracts for expenditures, purchases or other contractual <br />obligations for property, goods or services with a value of less than $10,000 dollars. <br />ADOPTED this I &r dayof {JI~u-t 2017.
