HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes-2016-103BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COUNTY OF KITTITAS STATE OF WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO.. &tJ/ LR -I D ~ TO AWARD THE CONTRACT FOR THE LODGE CREEK CULVERT REPLACEMENT ALONG VIA KACHESS ROAD AND AUTHORIZE THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE SAME WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: Resolution Number 2016-059 declared a Local Emergency supporting suspension of normal bidding and procurement requirements to allow expedited replacement of the culvert; and Resolution Number 2016-060 authorized engineering consultant services from Jacobs for immediate design and support ofthe replacement ofthe failed Lodge Creek culvert; and Jacobs has utilized services from Atkinson Construction for constructability reviews; and Atkinson Construction is currently working in the vicinity and has the ability to assist in the rapid procurement of materials to accommodate weather and in water work schedule restrictions; and Atkinson Construction furnished a Force Account Estimate accommodating the use of county forces to aid in cost minimization. The Director of Public Works recommends the force account estimate from Atkinson Construction, of$740,070.03 be accepted. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the best interest of the public, does hereby award the contract for the construction of the Lodge Creek Culvert replacement in the amount of$740,070.03 to Atkinson Construction . BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director for the Department of Public Works is authorized to sign the contract documents for said project.
