BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2016-Df Cf <br />A RESOLUTION AWARDING FUNDING FOR A GRANT PURSUANT TO STATE FUNDING <br />THAT WAS ALLOCATED TO LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT TO VERIFY THE ADDRESS AND <br />RESIDENCY OF ALL REGISTERED SEX OFFENDERS AND KIDNAPPING OFFENDERS <br />UNDER RCW 9A.44.130. <br />WHEREAS, the Washington State Legislature provides funding to local law <br />enforcement agencies through WASPC (The Washington Association of Sheriffs and <br />Police Chiefs) to verify the address and residency of all registered sex offenders and <br />kidnapping offenders under RCW 9A.44.130; and <br />WHEREAS, the funds awarded are designed to support all aspects of Registered <br />Sex Offender Address Verification, and are required to be used for face-to-face <br />verification of a sex offender's address at the place of residency, and <br />WHEREAS, The grant cycle follows the state fiscal year, starting July 1, 2016 and <br />ending June 30,2017, with funds disbursed in equal allotments each quarter; and <br />WHEREAS, funding from this program will also be used to send at least one staff <br />person to at least one OffenderWatch User Group meeting and/or the RSO Coordinator <br />Conference (October 11-13,2016); and <br />WHEREAS, the funding supports the efforts of the Sheriff's Office to enforce the <br />legal requirements of Chapter 9A.44 RCW and thus improve the community's safety, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND IT IS HEREBY ORDERED, that this <br />Agreement between Kittitas County and Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police <br />Chiefs be adopted. <br />ADOPTED this day of Wl-Z.--2016 .
