COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />TUESDAY 11:00 A.M. FEBRUARY 22, 2011 <br />Board members present: Chairman Paul Jewell, Vice -Chairman Alan <br />Crankovich and Commissioner O'Brien. <br />Others: Mandy Robinson, Deputy Clerk of the Board; Commander, Paula <br />Hoctor; Undersheriff, Clayton Myers; Sheriff Gene Dana; Patti <br />Johnson, Solid Waste Director/Project Manager. <br />SPECIAL MEETING JAIL DISCUSSION COMMISSIOVEZS <br />At 11:30 p.m. Chairman Jewell opened the special meeting to have a <br />discussion with County Jail staff. He explained that the discussion <br />stemmed from a meeting the Board held last Wednesday. He explained <br />that the Board felt getting all the players involved in this process <br />at the table would work the best to accomplish the goal of today's <br />meeting which was to clarify some design options and questions. <br />Undersheriff Myers reviewed what the needs will be of the Sheriff's <br />Office staff for the old administration space location. <br />Discussion on the proposed layout and what the office spaces would be <br />used for, and whether or not they would become space for other <br />departments ie., County Coroner, Fire Marshal, Probation, <br />Prosecutors, Security, etc. The Board was looking at any department <br />that tied in with the Jail/Sheriff's department as an option as well <br />as potential general storage for County departments, as they all are <br />in need of more space. <br />Sheriff's Department staff explained their suggestions for the space <br />and after various questions, comments and concerns expressed by staff <br />the Board was in support of the proposal the Sheriff's office <br />presented. The Board did indicate that there was space they would <br />like to offer the County Clerk for records storage and requested that <br />staff schedule a meeting on March 2, 2011 at 8:00 a.m, with the <br />County Clerk to discuss this potential option and see if there was <br />interest. <br />Meeting adjourned 11:55 a.m. <br />2011-02-22 MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />L11 <br />3 <br />
