COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONERS AUDITORIUM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />TUESDAY 2:00 P.M. FEBRUARY 15, 2011 <br />Board members present: Chairman Paul Jewell, Vice -Chairman Alan <br />Crankovich and Commissioner O'Brien. <br />Others: Catherine Dunn, Deputy Clerk of the Board; Mandy Robinson, <br />Deputy Clerk of the Board; Dan Davis, Plans Examiner. <br />PUBLIC HEARING DOERN OPEN SPACE TIMBER COMMISSIONERS <br />At 2:03 p.m. Chairman Jewell opened a public hearing to consider an <br />Open Space Timber request submitted by Edwin and Diane Doern. <br />Mandy Robinson, Deputy Clerk of the Board, said that Edwin and Diane <br />Doern had submitted an Open Space Timber application including a <br />Forest Management Plan and $300 application fee. She also pointed out <br />an email submitted from Phil Hess, Forester, questioning the age of <br />the Forest Management Plan. <br />Vice -Chairman Crankovich stated the Forest Management Plan was four <br />years old and Mr. Hess was not comfortable with the age of the Plan. <br />He said that normally the Forester is contacted at the time of <br />application to update any existing Forest Management Plans. Vice - <br />Chairman Crankovich also noted that the Fire Safety and Road Standard <br />sections of the Plan were out of date and he suggested updating those <br />as well. <br />THERE WAS NO ONE FROM THE PUBLIC IN ATTENDANCE REQUESTING TO TESTIFY. <br />OPEN SPACE - TIMBER APPLICATION DOERN COMMISSISONERS <br />Vice -Chairman Crankovich moved to take no action on the application <br />due to the lack of information and to allow the applicant time to <br />update the application and Forest Management Plan. Commissioner <br />O'Brien seconded the motion. Motion carried, 3-0. <br />Vice -Chairman Crankovich moved to direct staff to communicate with <br />the applicant regarding the lack of action taken; the need to update <br />the Forest Management Plan, and informing them of the March 1, 2011 <br />date to respond by without losing their application fee. <br />Commissioner O'Brien seconded the motion.
