Kittitas County Solid Waste, Fair : Maintenance Study• <br />January 13th, 2011-10:00 a.m. <br />Those Present: <br />Al Crankovich Paul Jewell Obie O'Brien @ 11:10 <br />Patti Johnson Lisa Lawrence Jim VandeVenter <br />Matthew Anderson Brenda Barker Jerry Pettit <br />➢ Other Business —Commissioner Jewell presented a letter of support to the Washington State <br />Department of Commerce. Commissioner Crankovich made a motion to endorse the application <br />for an Industry Cluster Grant Award from the Innovation Partnership Zone (IPZ) in Kittitas <br />County. Commissioner Jewell seconded the motion. <br />✓ Board voted 2-0 to approve the letter of support. Note for the record that Commissioner O'Brien <br />was absent. <br />**Solid Waste Update: Patti informed the board that garbage was down in December. Patti <br />reported that a customer slipped and fell at the Transfer Station and that they may have <br />suffered a hip injury. Documentation has been forwarded to Waste Management. <br />Patti requested approval from the board to enter into a job share with Public Works. Patti <br />informed the Board that this has been done in the past. She stated that since the Ryegrass <br />Facility is slow and the Compost Facility is closed this time of year that it is beneficial to both <br />departments to enter into a job share. The Ryegrass attendant, who is a member of the same <br />union as the Road Crew, would work for Public Works a minimum of three days a week and for <br />Solid Waste the remainder of the week. <br />:r • • 1 .•• • 111117R •• . <br />CPG Talking Points for Solid Waste Implementation — Patti presented the Board with <br />background information documents for the Coordinated Prevention Grant Program (CPG). <br />There was discussion about the Model Toxic Account and CPG Funding. <br />Patti Johnson, Solid Waste Director <br />IQ'PRi p <br />
