February 15, 2011 <br />Dear Teachers: <br />Kittitas County, Washington <br />BOARDOFCOUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />Distrie(One District Two Distilot Three <br />paul,jewell Alai) Crankovich Obie O'Brien <br />In April, Kittitas County will be celebrating "National County Government Month". This <br />year's national theme is "Serving Our Veterans, Armed Forces and Their Families". To <br />help recognize this event, the Kittitas County Board of Commissioner's office will be holding <br />their annual coloring/drawing contest for all elementary school children grades K-5. <br />The Kittitas County Board of Commissioners will judge the entries that most represent <br />Kittitas County and the theme on Friday April 8, 2011. The Board will award a season's <br />pass to the 2011 Kittitas County Fair during Labor Day weekend to three students from <br />each class who participates! <br />We will be displaying the entries throughout the Kittitas County Courthouse, beginning <br />April 1111, through April 15t". Upon the conclusion of National County Government Month <br />our office will contact each teacher whose class participated in the event to schedule a time <br />for a Commissioner to come in to their classroom for a brief award presentation. All entries <br />will be returned to you once they have been displayed in the Courthouse. <br />Attached is a page that can be copied and distributed to each child in your class. Please be <br />sure to have the children put then- first name, school, grade, and teacher at the bottom prior <br />to returning them to our office. All entries must be returned to the Kittitas County <br />Commissioner's office no later than Monday April 4, 2011. Please return your class entries <br />to 205 West 51h - Room 108 Ellensburg, Washington 98926. If you have any questions, <br />please contact our Clerk of the Board Julie Kjorsvik at 962-7508. We are once again looking <br />forward to seeing the creativity from the children of Kittitas County.
