ACTION REQUESTED: Approve a Resolution Authorizing County Road Projects
for Multiple Projects and Assigning CRP Numbers
BACKGROUND:
Kittitas County Public Works is beginning work on two projects that will be
added to the 2018 annual construction program.
RCW 36.75.050 requires the BOCC by resolution to authorize each project to allow for
Survey, Design, ROW, and/or Construction.
Projects to be added to the 2018 annual construction program:
Item No. 10 — Perry Road Turnaround — Resolution 2018-026 authorized the
vacation of a portion of Perry and per exhibit showed the proposed end of the
county road with a 55 foot radius cul de sac, of which the county now needs to
construct.
Item No. 1 I — Bowers Road Drainage Improvements — Runway drains were not
connected to the Bowers Road storm water conveyance system causing recurrent
spring flooding. The Bowers Road Drainage Improvement project will collect
runoff from the runways and move it westerly along Bowers Road and away from
Airport Road alleviating flooding to businesses and residences along Airport
Road.

RECOMMENDATION: Board of County Commissioner's authorize the County
Road Projects on the herein designated Kittitas County
Roads.

BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF KITTITAS COUNTY, STATE OF WASHINGTON, in the matter of
initiating a county road project designated as:
CRP NO: 291-18 JOB NO: RC1590-K1
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Perry Road Turnaround from Milepost 0.45 to Milepost 0.45 be improved as follows:
A turnaround is constructed at the new end of County road.

This project is hereby declared to be a public necessity and the Director of Public Works acting as the County Engineer is hereby
ordered and authorized to report and proceed thereon as by law provided. (RCW 36.75.050, 36.80.030, 36.80.070).
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that an appropriation from the officially adopted road fund budget and based on the Director of
Public Works' estimate, is hereby made in the amounts and for the purposes shown:

IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Bowers Road Drainage Improvement from Milepost 1.00 to Milepost 1.93 be
improved as follows:
Existing Bowers Road drainage is improved to accommodate airport runway
runoff along Bowers Road.
