STATE OF WASHINGTON
RESOLUTION
NO. 2018-�1
RESOLUTION AWARDING FUNDING FOR GRANTS PURSUANT TO LAW AND
JUSTICE COUNCIL RECOMMENDATIONS ON SPENDING OF 1/10TH OF 1% SALES
TAX RESERVES
WHEREAS: The Kittitas County Law and Justice Council met at their regularly scheduled
meeting on December 20, 2017, and voted unanimously to approve the below described funding
recommendations; and
WHEREAS: These expenditures shall be made from the 1 / l 0th of 1% sales tax reserve account
established by the Board of County Commissioners for spending on special projects to foster
cooperation, sharing of resources and enhancement of criminal justice projects within Kittitas
County; and
WHEREAS: Funding is to be made available January 1, 2018 except where noted as available
upon approval of this resolution; and
WHEREAS: The amount available for 2018 grants is approximately $40,000.00; and
WHEREAS: Estimated balance in the grant funds is approximately $116,000.00 after 2017
Grant obligations and maintaining $50,000.00 in reserve for the Range Project, and
WHEREAS: The grants described below are recommended for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners
hereby adopts the following funding recommendations as made by the Kittitas County Law and
Justice Council and these expenditures shall be made from the 1 / l Otis of 1% sales tax reserve
account.
18-1 Kittitas Co. Public Health $15000.00
Supplies/Registration/Advertising
18-2 Cle Elum Police Dept. $1,671.38
One Mobile Data Computer
18-4 Kittitas Co. Corrections Center $ 860.00
NOVA Electric Shield purchase
NOVA Lithium -Shield battery
18-5 Kittitas County SAR $55000.00
Replace Generator in MC61
18-7 CASA Program $3,400.00
Advertising, laptop, reimbursement
to advocates for registration fees & lodging
costs while at out of town Conference
Fall 2017 — Spring 2018
18-10 Community Builders
Drug Free Youth Retreat
18-11 Kittitas County Clerk Ofc.
Electronic display board/monitor
18-12 Youth Services of Kittitas County
Rent, Ins. Liability, Mentor Program expenses,

Pedestrian Safety Improvements (signs)
