KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />ACTION REQUESTED <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />May 1, 2018 <br />Approve a Resolution to Impose restrictions on heavy truck <br />traffic annually from May 15`h to September 15`h on certain <br />Upper County roadways. <br />BACKGROUND: Over the past year, Public Works (PW) has discussed the <br />issue of heavy truck traffic on certain Upper County roads <br />during summer I-90 road closures and slow downs (Nelson <br />Siding-Westside-Mohar-Upper Peoh-Thorp Prairie). On <br />several occasions, PW has brought draft resolutions to the <br />Board finalizing the closure action that is now being <br />considered. A provision acknowledging local deliveries is <br />included in the enabling legislation. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Sign the resolution imposing restrictions on heavy truck <br />traffic annually from May 15`h to September 15`h on certain <br />Upper County roadways. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works.
