ACTION REQUESTED:
Approve Settlement Agreement and set date for public process to begin with the Planning Commission to
consider code changes.
BACKGROUND:
The Settlement Agreement and proposed code amendments are the result of about a year and a half of
negotiation related to the Yakama Nation's challenge to the GMA compliance of the county's SMP.
INTERACTION:
The county has been negotiating with the Department of Ecology and the Yakama Nation. The Yakama
Nation has already approved and signed the Settlement Agreement.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve Settlement Agreement and set date for public process to begin with the Planning Commission to
consider code changes.
