Kittitas County <br />Prosecutor <br /> <br />Agenda Staff Report <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />5/1/2018 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Approve Settlement Agreement and set date for public process to begin with the Planning Commission to <br />consider code changes. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Settlement Agreement and proposed code amendments are the result of about a year and a half of <br />negotiation related to the Yakama Nation's challenge to the GMA compliance of the county's SMP. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: <br />The county has been negotiating with the Department of Ecology and the Yakama Nation. The Yakama <br />Nation has already approved and signed the Settlement Agreement. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Approve Settlement Agreement and set date for public process to begin with the Planning Commission to <br />consider code changes. <br /> <br />HANDLING: <br />None. <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />Neil Caulkins <br />
