AGENDA DATE: May 1, 2018
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to approve a Resolution authorizing an
Amendment to the September 6, 2016 Youth Sports
Scholarship Program Contract with HopeSouce.
BACKGROUND: The Board recently entered into a contract with Community
Builders to provide seeking funding for the Upper County
Youth Program that occurs during the summer month.
Funding for that program is provided by the retail rental car
1% sales tax that has been utilized in the past by the county
in a contract with Hopesource to provide scholarships for
youth athletic activities across the county. This Amendment
adopts a new budget for the Hopesource administered
program, removing the funding dedicated to the
Community Builders contract. It also amends the program
guidelines.
INTERACTION: Commissioner Jewell was directed to prepare the
Amendment after the Board took action on an Agreement
rededicating funding to Community Builders who put on
events in Upper County for the Youth in that area.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Amendment & Resolution as presented
