KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: May 1, 2018 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Approve the Resolution adopting an updated <br />Federal Aviation Administration Disadvantaged <br />Business Enterprise Policy for Bowers Field Airport <br />Improvements <br />BACKGROUND: Recently, the Kittitas County Board of County <br />Commissioners approved Resolution No. 2018-064 <br />supporting airport aid applications for upcoming <br />projects for Bowers Field. <br />Currently, Bowers Field has a disadvantaged <br />business enterprise (DBE) policy that was adopted <br />on February 16, 2016 under Resolution No. 2016- <br />029. The current DBE policy is set to expire and <br />the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has <br />updated the template for the policy. The adoption <br />of a new DBE policy is required as a condition of <br />grant award, if successful. <br />This action would also appoint Administrative <br />Assistant, Candie Leader, as the DBE Liaison <br />Officer with authority to sign the updated policy. <br />Staff has worked with the Prosecuting Attorney's <br />Office finalizing the policy for Board consideration. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works, Prosecuting Attorney's Office <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution adopting the updated DBE <br />policy supporting Bowers Field improvements. <br />HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution, DBE Policy <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark Cook <br />Director of Public Works <br />
