Subject: RE: Kittitas County Admissions Tax
Greetings
It has been brought to my attention that the Board of County Commissioners authorized an exemption to the admission
tax last year because your event is held within the City Limits of Ellensburg, with a few exceptions of using the County
Roads. My apologies for the mix-up or any turmoil this may have caused. If you would do me a favor to alleviate this
potential problem in the future, please create an account on the County's website, then create an Admissions Tax
account and request an exemption "your event being in the Ellensburg City limits". This will be recorded in our
Admissions Tax records, so not to create an issue in the future.
I have copied the steps from the previous email below, but I was notified by another user that there is a step missing in
my instructions, so they have been updated.
http://www.co.kittitas.wa.us/admissi ns/default.aspx
1) You must register on the County's Website, creating a user name and password. (you will see 1, Sign -in to our
website or create an account http://www.co.kittitas,wa.us/login/register.asox
2) Go to the Services section on the website and select "A" which will allow you to select Admissions tax.
hitp:/Iwww,co.kittitas.wa.us/admissions/taxi
3) After you complete the registration you will create an Admissions Tax Business Registration account, 2,d option
on the left "Business registration"
4) Complete the returns for each year.
Again, my apologies for the mixup.

In 2017, when you presented your request for a Special Event application to the Board of County Commissioners, I
recommended to the Board that your organization needs to pay the 2016 Admission Taxes and to remit the 2017
Admission Taxes after the event. As I researched our records, you have not registered on the County's website, nor
have you remitted any Admissions Taxes for 2016 or 2017. Based upon the fact that no taxes have been received, I will
have to recommend to the Board of County Commissioners that they not honor your request for the Special Event
application for July 14, 2018. Your 2018 application is going to be reviewed by the Board on Monday, April 30, 2018 at
10:30 am.
If you choose to pay your 2016 and 2017 taxes, you will have to pay penalties and interest.
You can go to the following link to start the process:

Miss Mifflin at CDS tells me that it's in a city zoning designation, so appears to be in the city limits. It may well be an
island of city surrounded by unincorporated county, but does appear to be city.

I have a vendor having an event at Carey Lake and I need to know if this is in the Ellensburg City Limits or in the
County. This will depend whether we collect admissions tax from the vendor.
