KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: April 17, 2018 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Authorize the Director of Public Works to seek grant <br />funding from the Federal Aviation Administration and <br />Washington State Department of Transportation Aviation <br />Division supporting an Environmental Assessment and <br />pavement removal at Bowers Field <br />BACKGROUND: Public Works is seeking funding assistance from the <br />Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Washington <br />State Department of Transportation Aviation Division <br />(WSDOT) supporting an environmental assessment and <br />pavement removal at Bowers Field. The match obligation <br />to FAA grants is estimated at approximately $43,000 in the <br />absence of financial assistance from WSDOT. <br />The Airport Fund has sufficient funding reserves at this <br />time covering the required match obligations for both <br />proj ects. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Director's signature on FAA and WSDOT <br />grant applications and obligate required matching funds <br />from the Airport Fund. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works. <br />ATTACHMENTS: Exhibit 1: Resolution authorizing the Director of Public <br />Works seek grant funding from the Federal Aviation <br />Administration and Washington State Department of <br />Transportation Aviation Division supporting an <br />Environmental Assessment and pavement removal at <br />Bowers Field. <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark R.
