AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: March 20, 2018
ACTION REQUESTED: Approve a Resolution Authorizing County Road Projects for Multiple
Projects and Assigning CRP Numbers
BACKGROUND:
Kittitas County Public Works is beginning work on several projects that are currently on our six year STIP
and annual construction program.
RCW 36.75.050 requires the BOCC by resolution to authorize each project to allow for Survey, Design,
ROW, and Construction.
Projects that are currently on the annual construction program are as follows:
• Roadside Hazard Safety Improvement — Federally funded county wide safety projects
• Fairview Road - replace three failing culverts with a bridge and realign Coleman Creek
• Naneum Road — Replace a failing and undersized culvert on Naneum Road and Naneum Creek
• Wiehl Road — Road Improvement District project for Wiehl Road.
• University Way /BR#88342 — Repair the bridge over BNSF on University Way West of
Ellensburg.
• Bar 14 Road Turnaround — Construct Turn Arounds on Bar 14 Road
Projects that are currently on the six year STIP but need to be added to the annual construction program
are as follows:
• Mohar Road — Repair the settling roadway on Mohar Road
• Kachess Lake Rd — Replace failing and undersized culvert on Kacess Lake Rd
• Bender Road — Widen, add bike and pedestrian facilities, update pavement and drainage from
Reecer Creek Road to Ellensburg City Limits.
• Dolarway Intersection — Construct Roundabout (WSDOT & City of Ellensburg)
INTERACTION: Public Works
RECOMMENDATION: Approve a Resolution Authorizing County Road Projects for Multiple
Projects and Assigning CRP Numbers
HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING MULTIPLE COUNTY ROAD PROJECTS AND
ASSIGNING CRP NUMBERS
WHEREAS: In the matter of initiating county road projects and assigning CRP numbers; and
WHEREAS: The roads listed below be improved as shown between the points indicated.
These projects are hereby declared to be public necessity and the County Engineer is hereby
ordered and authorized to report and proceed thereon as by law provided; and
WHEREAS: Appropriations from the officially adopted road fund budget and based on the
County Engineer's estimates are hereby made in the amounts and for the purposes shown:

County Roads and Bridges.
