Kittitas County <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br />Agenda Staff Report <br /> <br /> <br />Agenda Date: <br />March 20, 2018 <br /> <br />Action Requested: <br />Request Chairman's signature on the Final Report to the Washington State Hazard Mitigation <br />Grant #E-15-243 <br /> <br />Background: <br />Brenda Larsen, Fire Marshal approved Washington State Department of Military Department <br />Hazard Mitigation Grant on July 1, 2015 in the amount of 333,255.56 with an end date of January <br />9, 2016. This grant was to implement a sustained pre-disaster natural hazard mitigation program <br />to reduce overall risk to the population and structures from future hazard events, while also <br />reducing reliance on Federal funding in future disasters. This contract was amended on <br />December 14, 2015 to change the end date to January 9, 2017. And, the contract was amended <br />again on January 10, 2017 to extend the end date to December 31, 2017. <br /> <br />Kittitas County passed through the funds to the Kittitas County Conservation District. The <br />Conservation District has prepared the project checklist. <br /> <br />The grant is now closed and the County needs to sign the close out report as the final step in tthis <br />grant. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Recommend the Request Chairman's signature on the Final Report to the Washington State <br />Hazard Mitigation Grant #E-15-243 <br /> <br />Handling <br />2 originals to Dora she will pick up on Wednesday March 21, as she has to attend a close out <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Lead Staff <br />Judy Pless, Budget & Finance Manager <br />
