AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: March 6, 2018
ACTION REQUESTED: Approve a Resolution to Award the bid to
furnish Weed Spray Materials for 2018.
BACKGROUND. Annually, Kittitas County Public Works goes
out to bid for the furnishing of Weed Spray
Materials in accordance with specifications.
Call for bids are advertised in the legal
newspaper in order to provide equal
opportunity.

Bids were opened on February 22, 2018 at
2:00 p.m. Two (2) bids were received and
deemed responsive. Bids and individual
chemical specifications were reviewed by staff.
Bid pricing for 2018 are relatively unchanged
from 2017 bids.

RECOMMENDATION: Move to approve a Resolution to Award the bid
to furnish Weed Spray Materials for 2018 to
Helena Chemical Co.
HANDLING: Return one (1) copy to Public Works

RESOLUTION NO.
TO AWARD THE BID TO FURNISH WEED SPRAY MATERIALS FOR 2018
WHEREAS: A Notice of Call for Bids was approved and signed on February 6, 2018, for
Weed Spray Materials for 2018; and
WHEREAS: Sealed bids were opened on February 22, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. in the Kittitas County
Public Works and two (2) bids were received; and
WHEREAS: The Public Works Department recommends that the responsible bid of Helena
Chemical Company be accepted; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the
best interest of the public, does hereby award the bid for 2018 Weed Spray Materials to Helena
Chemical Company, upon such terms and conditions as specified in the Proposal submitted by
said bidder.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works is authorized to sign the
contract documents upon such terms and conditions specified in the Proposal submitted by said
bidder.
