KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />ACTION REQUESTED <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />March 6, 2018 <br />Approve a Resolution to Award the Bid to <br />furnish Asphalt Materials for Calendar Year <br />2018. <br />BACKGROUND: Annually, Kittitas County Public Works goes <br />out to bid for the furnishing of Asphalt Materials <br />in accordance with Standard Specifications of <br />the Washington State Department of <br />Transportation. Call for bids are advertised in <br />the legal newspaper in order to provide equal <br />opportunity. <br />INTERACTION: <br />Bids were opened on February 22, 2018, at <br />2:00 p.m. in the Public Works Department. <br />Two bids were received. We are awarding to <br />both bidders to ensure availability of products <br />for county needs. <br />Bid pricing for 2018 is stable for Class G <br />asphalt and an increase of approximately two <br />dollars ($2.00) per ton for Class B asphalt. <br />Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Move to approve Resolution to Award the Bid <br />to furnish Asphalt Materials for 2018; <br />Schedules 'A' and 'B' to Granite Construction <br />Company AND Columbia Asphalt and Ready <br />Mix. <br />HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution; Bid Tab <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark Cook <br />Public Works Director <br />
