KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SHERIFF'S OFFICE <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: Tuesday, March 6, 2018 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Acknowledge Agreement between Kittitas County <br />Sheriffs Office and CARFAX for Police Regarding Reporting of Vehicles Involved in <br />Collisions to CARFAX. <br />BACKGROUND: This agreement will allow the Kittitas County Sheriff s Office to <br />report vehicles involved in collisions to CARFAX, potentially providing aid in law <br />enforcement issues both within and without our jurisdiction. <br />The Sheriff's Office will NOT be electing to participate in E -Commerce Service, wherein <br />KCSO would be selling the data collected to other parties (e.g., insurance agencies). All <br />that will be provided to CARFAX will be the VIN and the fact that it was involved in an <br />accident. <br />INTERACTION: The Kittitas County Prosecuting Attorney's Office has reviewed and <br />approved. <br />RECOMMENDATION:, Request to Acknowledge Agreement between.
